It was a nice quiet Sunday morning with relatively good weather (no snow),
when the usual gang met at the Sea Crest Diner for breakfast and then headed
out to Ridgewood, Queens to attend a Tech Session about Oil Vapor
Separators, Goopy Dipsticks, Blue Smoke Clouds Excess Oil in the Intake Tube
etc. We were all very impressed by Joe LoRe's presentation when he actually
cut a standard equipment oil separator in half and we could see how badly it
was clogged up because it had not been cleaned and maintained properly. Joe
introduced a new product that does a better job and is extremely easy to care
for. It's just a matter of unscrewing and emptying a plastic catch tank and
then rescrewing it into place.
Aside from the presentation the 20 or so members in attendance got a complete
tour of his shop area and parts department--very impressive.
As usual the wonderful Susie LoRe outdid herself with an delicious spread
of meatballs, eggplant parmigiana and salad. As you can see by the photos below
we all learned a lot and had a great time.
